Ensemble Monterey is pleased to present  our 2014-15 season:

A Season of Premieres

Stephen Tosh Piano Quintet – Featuring the Composer at the Piano

Lou Harrison Seven Pastorales – With Posthumous Narration by the Composer!

Ensemble Monterey pays tribute to three of our very favorites. Innovative American music began with Charles Ives and his Third Symphony, which was premiered by the Central Coast’s own Lou Harrison. We are also honored to repeat Lou Harrison’s Seven Pastorales, which he narrated for us, in person, in 1998. And favorite Monterey Bay Area composer Stephen Tosh returns to perform his Piano Quintet, which Ensemble Monterey premiered in 2002.

The concert will also feature members of the Chamber Players of Youth Music Monterey performing several movements of the Dvořák American String Quartet.

Come an hour before each concert of the season for “Insights from the Conductor.”
