violin A concert of three nonets, sure to please. Joseph Rheinberger’s Nonet is a model of Nineteenth Century elegance and grace. Walter Piston’s Divertiment is a driving, energetic and exciting Twentieth-Century composition based on classical models. Finally, Clark McAllister’s Lou’s Mountain Bread is a delightful potpourri of American folk classics, and a great dessert for this three-course musical feast.
